Kitchen appliances that you can’t live without

Our kitchens are often filled with appliances that save us time and effort such as microwaves, dishwashers and mixers but sometimes we buy an appliance that sits in the cupboard or on a shelf gathering dust and eventually goes to a charity shop or gets sold at a car boot sale. There are some appliances that we could manage without but that make life and cooking so much simpler and healthier they become firm favourites and one such appliance is the air fryer.

Air fryers have come a long way from when they were first out and now are more compact, have digital displays and variable heat settings. The original air fryers have a paddle that rotates the food as it is cooking but now an alarm indicates that it is time to give the food a shake halfway through cooking.

If you are thinking about buying an air fryer it is important to get the correct size for your family. A two litre model is sufficient for one or two people whereas a family of four or more would be better buying one with a capacity greater than four litres. Storing the air fryer should also be considered when making your choice. Will the fryer stay on the kitchen countertop, or will it be tucked away in a cupboard? Check the dimensions of the air fryer as they vary considerably in size.
