Choosing the right flooring for your kitchen

If you are looking to have new flooring installed in your kitchen then you have a number of options available to you. Often people opt for lino in a kitchen as it is easy to keep clean and can be mopped without causing getting damaged. It is relatively cheap and comes in a range of styles, colours and thicknesses. Although lino is a good option for kitchens it also has it downsides. It is often very easy to rip meaning that if you need to move a large appliance around once the flooring is fitted you run the risk of tearing a hole in it. If this happens you cannot easily repair it or replace a section so instead will need to replace the entire flooring.

A better option of flooring may be laminate. Laminate flooring again comes in a range of colours, styles and thicknesses. You do not have to have wood effect you can instead opt for tile effect which looks very convincing. Laminate is a little harder wearing but you do have to be careful not to get it too wet otherwise it can warp. Laminate is often not much more than lino especially if you can push it under the skirting boards so do not have to pay for all the edging.
